How does ground-penetrating radar work?

Electromagnetic pulses that make the subsurface visible

Ground-penetrating radar sends short electromagnetic pulses into the ground. When they encounter material changes or structures, they are reflected in different ways. By additionally performing a 3D surface scan, we can also establish an exact spatial reference between surface features and the subsurface.

Based on travel time and signal strength, we calculate:

Horizontal position (X/Y) of the structure

Extent and shape of the installations

Depth (Z) in the ground

Turning radar waves into actionable data
